The active component of the plant is the integument : the enveloppe around the seed. Psyllium, through its mucilage, is traditionnaly used to fight bowel malfunctions.
The ideal dosage is up to each individual and can be from one teaspoon to 4 tablespoons during the day. Start with one teaspoon and gradually increase the dose over several days. Mix well in a big glass of water and drink immediately. Drink another glass of water again.
